• ❌ We do NOT use cookies for tracking

1. Who We Are

NutriLens is an independent app created by Lefteris Ktenidis, This is a personal project, not a company product. You can contact us at: lef1@protonmail.com

2. What Data We Collect

2.1 Account Data

When you sign in with a magic link, we collect and store:

• Your email address — used to identify your account and send login links
• Your registration date — to manage your trial period
• Your subscription status — free or premium

2.2 Health Profile (Biometrics)

You voluntarily provide health information to get personalized advice:

• Gender, age, height, weight, BMI
• Blood pressure readings
• Medical conditions (diabetes, hypertension, etc.)
• Food allergies

2.3 Scan History

• Food name identified from your photo
• Score change (+/-) for each scan
• Date and time of each scan
• Your photos are NOT stored — they are sent to the AI, analyzed, and immediately deleted from our server

2.4 Usage Data

• Number of scans per day (for trial limit enforcement)
• Your NutriLens health score

3. How We Use Your Data

• To send you magic login links via email
• To personalize AI food analysis based on your health profile
• To track your nutrition score over time
• To enforce trial and premium subscription limits

We do NOT use your data for:

• Advertising or marketing to third parties
• Selling to data brokers
• Building advertising profiles
• Any purpose not listed above

4. Third-Party Services

NutriLens uses these third-party services:

• Groq AI — processes your food photos for analysis. Photos are sent to Groq's API and immediately discarded. See Groq Privacy Policy
• Resend — sends magic login link emails. Only your email address is shared. See Resend Privacy Policy
• MongoDB — stores your account data and health profile securely

5. Data Storage & Security

• Your data is stored on a secure server in a private MongoDB database
• All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Passwords are never stored (we use magic links)
• Food photos are deleted immediately after AI analysis
• Session tokens expire after 30 days
• Magic login links expire after 15 minutes

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

• ✅ Access — request a copy of your data
• ✅ Rectification — correct inaccurate data
• ✅ Erasure — request deletion of your account and all data
• ✅ Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
• ✅ Objection — object to processing of your data

7. Data Retention

• Active accounts: data retained as long as account is active
• Inactive accounts: data deleted after 12 months of inactivity
• Deleted accounts: all data permanently deleted within 30 days
• Food photos: deleted immediately after analysis (within seconds)

8. Children's Privacy

NutriLens is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Cookies

NutriLens uses only one cookie: a session cookie (`connect.sid`) to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or analytics cookies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy occasionally. We will notify you by email if we make significant changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
